Bowie State Bulldogs sweep doubleheader against Fayetteville State

The Bowie State women’s and men’s basketball teams both came away wins on their home floor against the Fayetteville State Broncos in both teams’ final game of the calendar year and the decade.

The Lady Bulldogs were up first remaining undefeated after earning a 55-39 win over the Lady Broncos. Talanya Hutton led the Bowie with 15 points and seven rebounds while Dynaisha Christian came off the bench to record a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds along with two steals and two blocks. Kyaja Williams finished just shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Fayetteville State was led by Aminata Johnson who recorded 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks while Shantel Bennett finished with 11 points and two steals.

Bowie State’s men were next up getting the win over the Broncos by a closer margin of 71-64.

Cameron Hayes came off the bench to score 15 points while David Belle scored 13 points and five rebounds. Yohance Fleming finished with 11 points and six rebounds and Saiquon Jamison had eight points and nine rebounds.

Fayetteville State was led by Jalen Seegars finishing with 18 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action in 2020 on January 2 at home against Bloomfield College then both teams will be in action at home on January 4 against Winston Salem State.
