Have you ever heard about Curaleaf? If not, allow me to educate you on the world’s largest cannabis company. Curaleaf is committed to increasing diversity and equity within the cannabis industry. Last month, Curaleaf was one of the sponsors at the National Cannabis Festival held at RFK Stadium and I had the opportunity to network and meet a few members of their team. One of the notable Curaleaf team members I met was Raheem Uqdah, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and lead of the company’s Rooted in Good program. Through this program, the company is able to fight for racial diversity and equity, which they have done a lot of both here in the DMV and around the country.
As a company, Curaleaf identified its greatest potential for positive change to fall within three Corporate Social Responsibility programs: DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), Social Equity, & Environmental Sustainability. Curaleaf recently launched their Social Impact Report, which highlights major highlights of all three sections, and demonstrates how Rooted in Good has positively impacted communities.
