D.C. mayor extends COVID-19 ‘health emergency’ to May 15, clarifies face cover guidelines

On Wednesday, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that she will be extending the coronavirus “Public Health Emergency” to May 15 and clarified the District’s face-covering guidelines.

The order also applied to the closure of the city’s schools and non-essential businesses. Which also includes the ban on gatherings of more than ten people.

 

“The order will require masks for hotel workers, guests and visitors, individuals using taxis, rideshares and private transportation providers, workers and customers of food sellers and strongly encouraged for workers and individuals using public transit,” says Bowser.
