Earl Thomas’ Ravens job looks safe; after altercation with wife.

Earl Thomas’ marriage is on the rocks, but his job appears to be safe. After his wife allegedly held a gun to his head last month when she found him in bed with another woman, the Ravens were looking into whether the incident voided terms of his contract, the Baltimore Sun reported. But Pro Football Talk reported that nothing documented that went on would suggest Thomas has violated his contract that runs through the 2022 season. He was not arrested. He was the victim, if anything.

The Ravens, a source told the paper, weren’t thrilled with Thomas last year. They felt he freelanced too often, and he struggled with their defensive schemes, creating friction with teammates. The 31-year-old still had a strong season, reaching his seventh Pro Bowl and started 15 games after injuries had limited him to 29 games the previous three years. He came to the Ravens on a four-year, $55 million deal that included $32 million guaranteed. Thomas went viral this week after reports leaked of the April 13 event in which his wife, Nina, discovered his infidelities and held a gun to his head before he wrestled it away from her, cops say. When the police arrived, Nina was chasing Earl with a knife and he had the gun at that point.

The 31-year-old is now showing off the diamond necklace his wife gave him for his birthday nearly a month later, and it is spectacular. It includes a photo of a young Thomas with his late grandfather Pastor Earl Thomas.
