Frederick teens arrested in connection with Hagerstown girl’s death

Two teens have been arrested in connection to the death of 17-year-old Tykerria Katherine Dawson, who was found in a wooded area in Frederick County over the weekend.

Over the past several days, investigators from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating this case as a homicide. After numerous interviews, evidence collections, and search warrants, investigators found 16-year-old Richard Eugene Cartnail III and 14-year-old Caliyah Dawnae Lobaugh, to be suspects in Dawson’s death..

On Wednesday, both teens were arrested and are facing charges including first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Both teens will be charged as adults. Police have not determined a motive behind the murder. They are being processed at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office still asks for anyone that may have information related to this investigation to contact Detective Skelley at 301-600-4017.
