George Mason Locks Down Davidson for 60–52 Atlantic 10 Win

Fairfax, Va. — George Mason leaned on defense, patience, and late-game composure to earn a 60–52 victory over Davidson, securing an important Atlantic 10 win after pulling away in the second half. The opening half belonged to Davidson, which set the early tempo by applying pressure and taking advantage of scoring opportunities to build a slim lead. George Mason weathered the stretch by staying disciplined defensively and keeping the game within reach despite a slower offensive start.
Everything shifted after halftime.
The Patriots turned up the defensive intensity, disrupting Davidson’s rhythm and forcing contested looks on nearly every possession. The stops began to fuel the offense, allowing George Mason to gradually close the gap before taking control during a decisive run midway through the second half. As the game tightened in the final minutes, execution became the difference. George Mason controlled the glass, limited second-chance opportunities, and made timely shots to protect its lead. Just as importantly, the Patriots managed the clock efficiently, avoiding turnovers and forcing Davidson to play from behind down the stretch.

Kory Mincy led the Patriots with 19 points, providing steady scoring when George Mason needed it most. Jermahri Hill added 14 points, while Jahari Long chipped in 10, giving the Patriots balanced production throughout the night. For Davidson, Roberts Blums paced the Wildcats with 16 points, and Josh Scovens added 10 as they attempted to mount a late rally.
The win highlighted George Mason’s defensive identity and ability to execute in key moments, as the Patriots closed strong to secure a 60–52 conference victory.
