Get To Know Rising DMV Artist Straffa Boy

Named after a notorious neighborhood Straffaswoods shut down due to a high drug-trafficking and violence, Straffa Boy making his way on the DMV rap scene. Straffa started rapping in 2009 after relocating to DC, his roommate owned a record label, and since then magic has been made.

Straffa used to be a part of a Go-Go band, managed by the late DC filmmaker legend Big Weaze, and was a host for open mic night events in D.C. He heavily influenced by his two cousins, who passed away due to gun violence, and his father who was formerly incarcerated. Around this time period, Straffa Boy faced two near experiences and welcomed his first son which made him take hiatus from music to focus on his personal life.

In 2019, Straffa released his debut mixtape “Blessed“, produced by Kevo Beats & Star Chil. Remaining focus and consistent, Straffa Boy released the following single “No More” which gained more buzz with 30,000 streams. In 2020, he released two projects “Happy Straffa Days” and “Prince of Landover” featuring No Savage, Sqwayk, & Too Easy Black. Right now, Straffa Boy has a track out now with Ant Glizzy entitled “Better Days”.
