HBCU Graduate Creates Electronic Scholarship Fund For High School Students

Published

on

Due to COVID-19, many social gatherings have been canceled from concerts, conferences, to graduations. Many students across the country have been forced to complete the rest of the school year online. It is causing them to miss huge milestones such as prom and senior week. With every problem that comes to a solution, a recent college graduate had the pleasure of partnering up with a non-profit organization, Pure Potential Enterprises, Inc., to do something special for high school grads and undergraduate students across the country.

Delanee-Alexis Coley created the “Pot of Goal-D” Scholarship Raffle with the hope of helping a lucky high school senior or current undergraduate student continue their education. The scholarship raffle will assist students with books, fees, room & board, and other expenses associated with attending college or trade school. It is open to students all over the country. The winner will be announced on Juneteenth (June 19th, 2020) live on the PPE’s Instagram and Facebook.

Coley graduated in 2019 from North Carolina A&T State University and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is the Chief Executive of Special Projects for the Youth Divison of Pure Potential Enterprises and the founder of the “Simply A Young Lady With No Apologies” Conference.

Pure Potential Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 2008 to serve as a bridge to decrease the opportunity gap that currently exists within our community, negatively effecting the disenfranchised and under-served youth. PPE focuses on the whole child, acting as a support system to address the social, emotional, and intellectual needs of their scholars. Their overall goal is to help each scholar become the best version of themselves as we prepare and guide them on their journey to higher education.
