Hoyas Lean on Balance and Defense to Secure 70–61 Win Over DePaul

The Georgetown Hoyas controlled the game from start to finish in a 70–61 win over DePaul, using efficient shooting, balanced scoring, and defensive pressure to secure the victory. Four Hoyas reached double figures as Georgetown stayed composed through every Blue Demons push.
Standout Performances
Malik Mack led the way with 16 points and 11 assists, controlling tempo and delivering every time Georgetown needed a response. He was automatic at the free-throw line, finishing 10-for-10 to close the door late.
Julius Halaifonua scored 11 points on perfect shooting, finishing efficiently around the rim and providing steady minutes in the frontcourt.
Vince Iwuchukwu added 11 points off the bench, giving Georgetown energy, interior scoring, and strong physical play inside.
Caleb Williams chipped in 10 points, hitting timely shots that stopped DePaul runs and maintained control.
Georgetown shot 51% from the field and 42% from three, staying efficient without forcing offense. The Hoyas also handled the details—limiting turnovers, winning key rebounds, and closing possessions with discipline. After building early momentum, Georgetown used a late first-half run to take a 34–24 halftime lead. DePaul made multiple second-half pushes, but the Hoyas answered each one with timely baskets, free throws, and defensive stops. A late bucket from Kayvaun Mulready sealed the win.
The performance reflected Georgetown’s growth: shared scoring, clean execution, and control in winning moments turned a balanced effort into a strong conference victory.
