On Sunday afternoon, the Washington Mystics saw their five game winning streak snapped as they lost to the Los Angeles Sparks 98-81. The win comes on the 47th birthday of Los Angeles Sparks legend Lisa Leslie. The loss drops the Mystics record to 9-4 but they remain at the top of the WNBA while the Sparks improve to 7-6 taking sole possession of fifth place in the standings.

The Sparks were led by Nneka Ogwumike who had 31 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks followed Riquna Williams who had 19 points and four rebounds. Candace Parker did not shoot well going 2/8 from the field scoring just seven points in the game but added seven rebounds and four assists to help her team to the win.

The Mystics were led by Aerial Powers who had 24 points off the bench. Kristi Tolliver had a near triple-double with 18 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

The story for the Mystics in this game was Elena Delle Donne leaving in the opening minutes of the game with a facial injury.  No further updates have been given on her injury.

The Mystics next game will be at home against the Phoenix Mercury.
