Where does your transparency come from?

It comes from places in me that I never liked to visit until recently. It used to take such a toll on me because I started feeling like I was exploiting what I’ve been through just to get someone to listen to a song. And now that I’ve talked about everything I’ve been keeping inside on my last album, I don’t feel the need to keep telling the same stories in different ways. Like, we get it, I’ve been through so fucking much. Cool. But I’ve moved on from that tired narrative and I’ve grown as a person in the process when I figured out that no matter how amazing the songs are, they’re never worth the toll it takes.

How does it tie into your music?

It started as an outlet and it will forever be an outlet. The beat will bring it out of me. It’s not that I don’t want to talk about my pain anymore, I’m in a place in life where there isn’t any pain to talk about, and I’m beyond grateful for that.

Define yourself with a lyric from you.

I didn’t get the verdict, I was introverted til it hit the surface,

Now I can’t get a word in, I don’t miss the drinking, I just miss the person.

If your life was a movie and book, what would it be and why? 

It would be the darkest comedy you’ve ever seen or read, while also being a story of redemption. But like with all movies based on books, the book will always be better than the movie.

Three things about you we don’t know? 

1. I’m a recovering alcoholic/addict, and I’ve been sober for over 2 1/2 years (It will be 3 years on September 2nd).

1. I have a bunch of mental illnesses (AdHD, Depression, Anxiety, High Functioning Autism, etc.) that I’ve learned to use to my advantage instead of allowing them to hold me back.

1. I’ve only been making beats for less than a year, and they sound INCREDIBLE already (It will be a year in August though, so I won’t be able to brag about that for much longer).

Describe your daily routine? 

I wake up, take a shower, brush my teeth, go downstairs, and either make beats or run sessions at my house until about 7 PM. Then I kick it with my girlfriend for the rest of the night, go to sleep, and then the cycle resets.
