Meet Florida Singer & Songwriter OG Steever

The DMV Daily had the pleasure of speaking with Broward County’s very own singer and songwriter OG Steever. The sunshine state native started making music as a teen to “feel less alone”. Through his six-year music journey, OG Steever managed to build a global community of listeners that expressly relate to his emotion-driven sound. With a distinct sound chiefly inspired by hip hop, pop, and punk rock, it’s no wonder Steever crossed over 1.2 million streams in 2020, and he only plans on going harder in the upcoming future. Check out our exclusive Q&A down below.

Q: Who inspired you to make music?

OG Steever: it’s not really who but it’s more of what inspired me to make music. Growing up it was hard to express my feelings through talking so I use my music as an outlet to heal myself emotionally.

Q: How would you describe the music that you typically create?

OG Steever: The music I create is for everyone who feels what I feel. A lot of people refer to it as sad or emo music.

Q: What is your creative process like?

OG Steever: The way I create my music is always based on emotions, what I’m currently feeling, and experiences that I have gone through.

Q: Who would you most like to collaborate with?

OG Steever: The only person I would want to collaborate with is Trippie Redd. I also wish I had a chance to collaborate with the late passing XXXtentacion and Juice WRLD.

Q: What is one message you would give to your fans?

OG Steever: One message that I would give my fans is to look out for themselves because if you don’t then who will?

Q: What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

OG Steever: If it wasn’t for music I would definitely still be doing something in the entertainment industry because that’s just the type of person I am. Most likely being a YouTuber or gaming

Q: Where have you performed?

OG Steever: I have performed at several local venues in Florida in resulting have a strong local fanbase

Q: Which famous musician(s) do you admire?

OG Steever: I take inspiration from XXXtentacion, Juice WRLD, and Trippie Redd. I feel like I relate to them the most

Q: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

OG Steever: The most trouble I’ve ever gotten to was resulting in a home burglary a few years back that opened my eyes and rid me of my evil past

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given?

OG Steever: The best advice I’ve been given is to always keep going no matter how hard things get because, in the end, it will all be worth it.

Q: What’s next for you?

OG Steever: I plan on influencing millions of lives and inspiring young kids to follow their dreams even if they are the only ones supporting themselves.
