Two men are missing after a helicopter crashed near Kent Island, Maryland in the Chesapeake Bay on Saturday, according to officials. The U.S. Coast Guard said it was searching for the men after it received a call about a helicopter crash at about 12:30 p.m.
Authorities said the two-seat light helicopter took off from Tipton Airport, which is located near Ft. Meade, and crashed just southeast of Bloody Point, about 1 mile south of Kent Island.Rescue crews from several local agencies were searching for the two missing men. Authorities confirmed debris from the wreck was visible.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
