Louisana rapper Hurricane Chris has been arrested for second-degree. Authorities took him into custody Friday morning for shooting a man outside of a Shreveport convenience store.

Police arrived at the scene to find a man with gunshot wounds to the chest, stomach, and hip. The victim died shortly after being rushed to a local hospital.

The 31-year-old rapper claims he shot the man in self-defense after an alleged struggle over his car. Later authorities found out the car he was trying to steal was stolen out of Texas.

Hurricane Chris whose real name is Christopher Dooley has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and another for illegal possession of stolen things.
