Support DMV Minority-owned businesses
The coronavirus pandemic has struck businesses throughout the DMV and beyond.
Georgetown University’s student publication, The Hoya, points that out the pandemic aggravating existing inequalities – including those faced by minority-owned businesses.
Some of these businesses are the most iconic businesses in the region, and they are going to need support from the community.
Despite us facing one of the worst economic downturns in history, Forbes reported that minority-owned businesses are struggling yo obtain Paycheck Protection Program loans.
A recent survey shows that only 12 percent of black or Latino-owned business was able to receive PPP loans and half of those surveyed say they may be forced to close.
