Telfar Clemens announces new collaboration with UGG coming soon

Telfar is a unisex line that was established in 2005 in NYC by fashion designer Telfar Clemens. Telfar has become the new it fashion brand gaining traction from the line’s signature Telfar shopping bags. These bags are not ordinary grocery bags to take to your local store. These bags are fashionable but fully functional for on-the-go people for everyday wear who want more than just a regular bag on their shoulders. Telfar has expanded into other accessories like hats and belts but mostly sellout in their luxury handbags every restocks.

Its an “Everyday bag for Everyone,” Clemens stated about his collection. Ironically named the “Bushwick Birkin,” the demand was so high for a Telfar bag, the brand created the “Telfar  Bag Security Program.” This was a one-day 24-hour event that allowed everyone to preorder a bag of any color, size, and style for guaranteed delivery between December 15th and January 15th, 2021. The “Bushwick Birkin” retails between $150 to $257.

 In a recent post on Telfar’s Instagram, the brand announced its collaboration is coming soon with UGG. The promo video has now reached over 60,000 views in 24 hours and continues to grow minute by minute. The promo video was also captioned with COMING 2021: TELFAR x UGG. The 1:27 minute clip showcased what could be the pieces apart of the collab collection. Such as a cream/off white sweater with the word Telfar in brown lettering Mr. Clemens is wearing at the beginning of the video or the popular mini short Uggs in their classic universal brown color. The video starts with what seems to be a CBS interview with founder and designer Telfar Clemens speaking about his brand keeping its success in the middle of a pandemic with their signature slogan “ITS NOT FOR YOU—IT’S FOR EVERYONE” plastered on the TV screen.

Telfar Clemens then models some collection pieces in the mirror giving his critiques and admiration only showing a small glimpse from the chest up of what to expect. There were cameos of clothing like a pair of black boots with the famous Telfar logo or a Sheepskin line vest Clemens admired and gave his seal of approval with a simple elongated “Wow.” The most prominent piece that was showcased was a crew neck T-shirt that had rhinestone embellishing of the Telfar logo and Ugg logo meshed together, creating an eye-catching fashionable shirt.  

“I find Ugg is sexy, a soft kind of rugged? Clemens stated. I have made unofficial, unauthorized Ugg boots in two shows already dating back to 2010. So, I’ve always been obsessed with a certain kind of ubiquity and when something really unique ends up on everybody. 

The news of this partnership is followed by Telfar Clemens’s CFDA win for accessories designer of the year award.

The UGG x Telfar collection is expected to drop sometime in 2021.
