Three things we don’t know about you?

1. I played 2 years of college basketball at Carnegie Mellon.

2. I met Umar bin Hassan from the Last Poets at my job & I had to jump out the window and give him my CD.  But he ended up liking it & we worked together, so, if you’re gonna risk your job, you better be dope!

3. I went to high school with Jidenna.

Define you in five words

The best you haven’t heard.

Favorite pre studio traditions?
I always grab a big bottle of water from a gas station.  Why?  Just a habit.
Pre performance traditions?

I just pray for a good performance & practice, practice, practice.

Top five biggest musical influences?

Nas, Jay, Tupac, Biggie, & the Soulquarians.

Define the music industry

It’s a corporate industry in America.  Meaning that everything comes down to the bottom line.  The record labels, streaming companies, etc. are in business to make the biggest margins they can from the artists’ music.  So they want to pay us the smallest amount possible.  Once you understand that, you know how you should move.

Artists and media personalities you like to work with more?

Man, I definitely want to do some interviews with @PatIsDope & @TheMediaPrince.  As far as artists, I want to get in the studio with Wale, Goldlink, Chaz French, Noochie, Glizzy, pretty much anybody who is nice.

Any Shout outs?

Shout out to all of my Baltimore fam – Huli Shallone, D’Nero, Profitt, DJ Harvey Dent, my Pittsburgh folk – DJ Huggy, James Armstead Brown, Gene Stovall, the 4 Corners, & my Boston peoples – J.Charles, Princeton, & everybody else.
