The Toronto Raptors Win Game 4 Take A 3-1 Lead In The NBA Finals.

The Toronto Raptors are one win away from winning their first NBA Championship in franchise history in their first NBA Finals appearance after winning game four 105-92.

The Raptors struggled to begin the game trailing by as much as 12 in the first half and going into halftime down by four.  Similar to the Warriors in game two, it was the third quarter for the Raptors that was the key to the them getting the win as they outscored the Warriors 37-21 in the quarter going into the fourth up 79-67.

Kawhi Leonard was huge in the game for the Raptors scoring 36 points and 12 rebounds in the game 17 of his points coming in the third quarter. To put Kawhi’s game four performance in perspective, Kawhi Leonard shot 11/22 from the field and 5/9 from three-point range while the rest of the Raptors team shot 25/64 from the field and 5/21 from three-point range. Serge Ibaka also played well for the Toronto Raptors scoring 20 points in the game on 9/12 shooting from the field.

Warriors center Kevon Looney, who was thought to be out for the remainder of the NBA Finals, returned in game 4 with 10 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes in the game. Klay Thompson in his return for the Warriors had 28 points in 42 minutes shooting 11/18 from the field and made six three-pointers while Stephen Curry had 27 points and six assists in the game but it was not enough to get the win as they lose both home games in these NBA Finals.

The two home losses for the Warriors is the first time they have lost two consecutive home playoff games since the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers the series in which they famously blew a 3-1 lead.  This is also the first time they have lost two consecutive playoff games since last year’s Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets.

The Raptors will look to clinch their first ever NBA Championship as the series shifts back to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Monday.
