Washington Mystics center Tina Charles was named Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in the month of June.

The 2012 former MVP  averaged 24.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game during June. This is Charles’s 12th Player of the Month award, the most ever by a WNBA player. Her last was earned in August 2017.

Charles became the first player in WNBA history to record consecutive 30 points, 15 rebounds games (June 19-June 22). She had six games of 25+ points (five consecutive), the most by a player in the month. Charles’ five consecutive games of 25 or more points mark the longest streak in franchise history and of her career.

The five-time all-star center totaled five double-doubles in the month. It’s the second most double-doubles by a player in a month and the first time since July 2017 that she has recorded five or more in a single month. For the month of June, Charles was the only player to average 20 or more points while shooting at least 45.0% from the floor and 40.0% from three-point range.
