The Washington Football Team has parted ways with wide receiver Kelvin Harmon. Harmon was cut along with cornerback Chris Miller and running back Lamar Miller this past Sunday.

Harmon was drafted by Washington in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State. His rookie year he caught 30 passes for 365 yards. He was best known for his spectacular catches that wooed fans.

Last year he tore his ACL causing him to miss the entire 2020 season. In Washington’s first preseason game against the New England Patriots, he caught one pass for seven yards.

Ron Rivera commented on the cut after being asked did it have anything to do with the injury:

“It speaks to the depth of the room. It’s a very good room, and Kelvin is going to get opportunities. But we have a very good room right now and some of the decisions we made today were based on giving the guys an opportunity out there right now.”

After the first preseason game, the NFL rules state the team roster must go from 90 to 85 players.
