Washington Mystics extend win streak to three games with win over Minnesota Lynx

On Sunday afternoon, the Washington Mystics defeated the Minnesota Lynx 101-78 extending their win streak to three games and taking a one game lead over the Connecticut Sun for the best record in the WNBA.

The Mystics won without guard Kristi Toliver their team leader in assists. The Mystics were led in scoring by forward Emma Messeman coming off the bench to score 25 points. Following her was Mystics star forward Elena Delle Donne who had 23 points and 10 rebounds and forward Aerial Powers who had 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Minnesota Lynx were led by guard Odyssey Sims who had 20 points, eight assists and four rebounds while forward Napheesa Collier had 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.

The Mystics’ record improves to 17-7 while the Lynx record drops to 12-12.

The Mystics next game will be Wednesday at home against the Seattle Storm.
