The Washington Redskins have made another key addition to their defense agreeing to terms with five-year veteran cornerback Ronald Darby to a one-year deal. Darby is the second cornerback the Redskins have added in free agency and the third defensive player they have added following the signings of cornerback Kendell Fuller and safety Sean Davis.

Ronald Darby was born and raised in Oxon Hill, Maryland playing high school football at Potomac High School where he was teammates with Baltimore Ravens corner Tavon Young.

The team included future NFL stars quarterback Jameis Winston, running back Devonta Freeman, wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Darby was drafted in the second round with the 50th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills. Following two years with the Bills, he then moved to the Philadelphia Eagles where he has been the past three years. He won the Super Bowl in his first season with the team on a defense that was fourth in the league in points allowed and fourth in interceptions.

Last season, the Redskins defense was amongst the bottom of the league ranking 27th in points allowed, 30th in passing touchdowns allowed, 27th in total yards allowed and 28th in first downs allowed. The team is have made several different moves to improve on their defensive woes including releasing long time cornerback Josh Norman who is now with the Buffalo Bills.
