Washington Wizards extend qualifying offers to multiple players

The Washington Wizards have extended qualifying offers to Bobby Portis, Tomas Satoransky and Thomas Bryant making them all restricted free agents.

The Wizards acquired Bobby Portis from the Chicago Bulls in a midseason trade this past season along with Jabari Parker for Otto Porter.  With the Wizards, Portis played 28 games averaging 14.3 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. Portis is expected to be pursued by multiple teams: Lakers, Clippers, Jazz, Bucks, Magic and Knicks as reported by NBC Sports Washington.

Tomas Satoransky was drafted by the Wizards in the second round of the 2012 draft and has been with the Wizards for three seasons.  Satoransky played 80 games filling in for John Wall in the starting lineup after Wall suffered a torn left achilles leaving him out for the rest of the season.  In the games following Wall’s injury, Satoransky averaged 11 points per game, 6.6 assists per game, and 4.6 rebounds per game while also achieving his first career triple-double against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Thomas Bryant was picked up by the Wizards last offseason after being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers. In his first year with the Wizards/second professional season, Bryant played 72 games averaging 10.5 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game filling in for Dwight Howard who was injured for most of the season. According to Chris Miller of NBC Sports, Thomas Bryant will be the Wizards top priority to re-sign going into free agency.

One notable omission from the Wizards qualifying offers is midseason acquisition Sam Dekker.  The Wizards acquired Dekker in a trade this past season and ended up playing a limited role with the team. Dekker will now enter free agency as an unrestricted free agent.
