Slick Jay – My energy music video takes you through a journey of emotions where I was being drained in the relationship and my energy wasn’t being matched so I found out how to utilize my energy into a song

The DMV Daily – Who inspired you to make music?

Slick Jay – Really myself and my cousin he is a producer pushed me as well and i always dreamed of being a star and showing my vision to the world and bringing it to life

The DMV Daily – How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Slick Jay – I would describe it as live music with a vibe because my songs are mostly about my real-life situations and relationships and mental health and addressing conflicts within myself with my songs.

The DMV Daily – What is your creative process like?

Slick Jay – I normally find a beat that can resonate with the mood I’m in and then I start to think about my life and how I really feel and then I start to write what’s in my head and I try to make it a story or a conversation that I have with someone or inside my own head.

The DMV Daily – Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Slick Jay – Lil Tecca

The DMV Daily – What is one message you would give to your fans?

Slick Jay – NEVER give up on who you are and on your dreams any vision you have in your head you can create and bring to reality so don’t listen to what anyone else says or even your own doubts just go for it!

The DMV Daily – What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

Slick Jay – Honestly wouldn’t think I would be alive because music first started as therapy for me in tough situations rather than talking to people I would talk to my mic because it doesn’t leave and its always there to listen and hopefully fans will listen too.

The DMV Daily – Where have you performed?

Slick Jay – I have yet to do live performances as Slick Jayy but I always been on stage dancing or singing so I know how to do it just haven’t gotten enough traction or right management to do shows.

The DMV Daily – If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Slick Jay – The exposure difference between mainstream and independent wish it was easier to get more exposure.

The DMV Daily – What’s next for you?

Slick Jay – More videos and more music and more fire pictures too and I really wanna start doing shows soon.
