Wizards Cruise Past Raptors 138-117 at Capital One Arena
Article by Jayson Chong
Washington put together a strong four-quarter effort to pull away from Toronto, defeating the Raptors 138–117 on Friday night at Capital One Arena. The win marked one of the Wizards’ most complete performances of the season, as they paired efficient scoring with consistent energy on both ends of the floor.
The Wizards were led by Keyshawn George, who finished with 23 points on an efficient night from the field. Bilal Coulibaly and CJ McCollum each added 21 points, helping Washington maintain offensive balance throughout the game. The Wizards shot at a high percentage overall and controlled the tempo by winning the rebounding battle, limiting Toronto’s second-chance opportunities.
Toronto stayed competitive through three quarters behind Brandon Ingram’s 29-point performance and Immanuel Quickley’s 25, trimming the deficit to just two entering the final period. However, Washington responded with its best stretch of the night, opening the fourth quarter with a decisive run and holding the Raptors to just 17 points in the final frame.
Washington’s defensive pressure and ball movement proved to be the difference late, as the Wizards knocked down timely shots and pulled away to secure the 21-point victory. The performance served as a confidence-building win for a young Wizards group looking to build momentum moving forward.
