D.C. Artist Big Booda is dead after a shooting early Saturday in Northeast D.C. Police say the shooting took place around 2:39 a.m. Saturday on the 3800 block of Minnesota

D.C. Artist Big Booda is dead after a shooting early Saturday in Northeast D.C.

Police say the shooting took place around 2:39 a.m. Saturday on the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue Northeast.

They found the 24-year-old Southeast rapper, whose legal name is Donelle Hodges inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at a nearby hospital.

Hodges gained his fan based under the stage name Big Booda, and his death come shortly after the release of his new mixtape. He was also a new father of a one-year-old boy. One of his business partners mentioned to Fox 5 about how Hodges “truly wanted to get his life right and leave the area.”

The associate talked about Hodges’ death being very devastating because it came months after the death of Hodges’ mother.
