Just weeks after her newly released single, Disney+ announced that 26-year-old actress, singer, and tv personality, KeKe Palmer, is set to voice the 14-year-old activist Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins in the Disney+ revival series, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. Palmer’s character is the first one to be announced for the upcoming original series.
This news also comes with more exciting news. Palmer is set to host the 2020 Video Music Awards premiering on August 30th.
“I heard y’all was tired of 2020, let’s go back to 2008,” Palmer wrote on Twitter. “Join me as I host the 2020VMAs on August 30th on MTV!”
Palmer became a trending topic on Twitter, after the news when fans took to social media to express their excitement and support for her.
