Check out our exclusive Q&A down below.
Q: Who are some people you have worked with and currently working with?
I worked with a number of people in the DMV area. I’m thankful to have worked with every person because I established relationships that’ll last me a lifetime. Some notable names:
PFM Pistol P, KEENAN SYSTEM, TREASURE, RAVEN PARIS, BMORE BASKETBALL ACADEMY, THE WEST BRAND, STAYDOWN TREVV, CHASTIY CORSETT, ARCADE DROYD, BMORE LIL KEY, WIFI WALLY, VIRAGO THE LABEL, TEVIN TOWNS, SALON KAYTOURE & Plenty more
Q: When did you know this was the career for you? What prepared you to choose this career?
It was always in me. When I was 14 I got my first tattoo and was a brand ambassador for my cousin (@Getinky36) tattoo. business. From then, people always came to me for business advice. I turned my love for helping people into a lifelong career. From my first day working with Pistol P, I knew this was my lane and I was going to give it my all.
Q: What are some of the ups and downs you face in a back-and-forth industry?
From the outside looking in, this business looks perfect but I can speak for a lot of people in my field, I deal with alot. Being lied to, getting disappointed, dealing with people with selfish intentions, dealing with unprofessional people but all in all, this is a business that is designed for the tough. Every day I wake up, I was up grateful to have this life because I can honestly say I love what I do. I wouldn’t want to do anything different.
Q: We all have somebody we look up to, who do you draw your inspiration for?
Growing up it’s rare we have role models, we usually have people we simply don’t want to be anything like. People in my field that I do admire, I would say “Kareem Biggs” ‘“Rich Paul” & “Maverick Carter”. I would name a few more but all in all, I salute these guys. They’re innovative, creative, and true hustlers. I usually don’t look up to people that I don’t have a personal relationship with because you never know who people truly are from tv or social media. I’m big on a person’s character.
Q: How do I prepare for clients?
I have different tactics for each person since I work with so many different types of people. There’s honestly no certain way to prepare but I go over a few months of researching a person. I don’t look for money I look at a person’s habits. They’re good or bad traits because at the end of the day. I invest a lot of money and time into my people therefore I can’t afford to find out later down the line that a person has malicious ways.
Q: What are some tips to have a successful brand?
Creative content, consistent post, constantly growing, being unique, being exclusive,
In this generation, you have to be able to keep up with people’s needs. Due to social media, you have to stay in the publics’ eye or they will turn to the next person. but don’t let that mean you have to rush work. Be effective with your branding. Having good relationships, being exclusive, having a particular identity that a person can grow to love. You always want your brand to live longer than your life itself.
Q: What are some things to expect in 2021?
- A networking event
- A new app
- A new planner (that may be 2022)
- And of course, all of my clients REACHING NEW LEVELS
Q: Why do you choose the people that you work with?
I choose my clients based on their brand’s identity. I look into their story, I look to see if it’s a long term investment. Anyone can make money today, or generate a buzz. I like to work with people that have brands that can potentially last 10 + years.
Q: What is your creative process like?
I’m not traditional, I’m a natural-born hustler. I don’t have a process that I can explain. I wake up I think about my future, I think about my family, I think about my people in my corner that still struggle daily. And from there I get in a mode that can’t be matched.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
- FIGURE IT OUT
- TAKE CHANCES
- ALWAYS THINK IF YOUR IDEA CAN CHANGE LIVES
- BE EFFECTIVE
- SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE YOU WANT YOUR FUTURE TO REFLECT
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I wish social media didn’t force people to do things strictly for attention. I’m big on genuine things. So this whole phase of people doing literally anything for attention to get accepted doesn’t sit well with me.
What’s next for you?
If I told you….. ahaha #TheManWithThePlan
