LiAngelo Ball is expected to sign with the Charlotte Hornets summer league team according to Sports Illustrated’s journalist Roderick Boone.

League sources spoke to SI.com’s All Hornets and told them the team is on track finalizing their roster for the Las Vegas summer league. The games take place from August 8-17.

Ball, 22, is the brother of NBA player Lonzo and reigning rookie of the year LaMelo Ball. The trio of brothers gained notoriety for their fast pace play during their high school careers at Chino Hills High School.

LiAngelo hasn’t played with his brother LaMelo professionally since the two hooped with Prienu Vytautas in 2017-18. There he averaged 12.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 21.7 minutes in 16 games.

Ball has struggled to find his way into the NBA since going undrafted in 2018. He had signed with the Oklahoma City Blue, a G League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the league shut down due to COVID-19.

Subsequently, he went to the Detroit Pistons and signed an Exhibit 10 contract in early December. He was waived 12 days later and didn’t appear in any games due to a right ankle injury.

This time around it looks at if all the Ball brothers could officially be in the NBA, only time will tell.
