How Martha Stewart’s Interest Started
The person responsible for her interest in branching out was her co-host and pot-enthusiast Snoop Dogg. Stewart and Snoop have become close since working together on their show “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.”
Back in 2015, the rapper showed interested in Bruce Linton the CEO of Canopy. He collaborated with a subsidiary of Canopy called Tweed. In 2016 they announced their partnership with the rapper and released three varites of cannabis under the Leafs by Snoop” brand.
Snoop had talent agents reach out last year to Canopy and suggested they talk to Stewart. Here’s what Linton had to say about the meeting.
“I was probably more excited to meet Martha than I think almost any other celebrity I’ve been introduced to. I’m running a very large marijuana company and here I am meeting a person considered a leader on all things etiquette.”
She is so thoughtful about how things tie together. She rattled off possibilities, “‘This could compliment that, these parties could be helpful on this.”
I think it’s a starting spot that was comfortable for everyone involved. We have the science and she’s a lifelong dog, horse, animal person,” Linton said. “This just seemed like a really balanced and suitable starting point.”
