The R&B Singer Sits Down With Gayle King To Address The Sexual Abuse Allegations
Ever since the release of the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly the singer has faced extreme backlash and is fighting to prove himself innocent.
The singer has had other celebrities come out to speak against him as well as the impact of users on social media to try and bring him down.
Kelly has a long history of sexual abuse allegations and for years has swept a lot of it under the rug. He has been in court before and was found acquitted back in 2008 for child pornography charges. It had taken six years back then for prosecutors to get him in court on the charges back then.
What Has Happened
This brush with the law is different. Kelly faces 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. 4 of those victims include 3 who were minors at the time and date as far back as 1998.
Kelly was arrested and spent 3 days in jail before being released on $1 million bond. Kelly was ordered by the judge to not have any contact with any of the alleged victims, witnesses, or anyone under 18.
More of this interview will air tomorrow morning on “CBS This Morning.” Kelly is due back in court on March 22nd.
