The DMV Daily had the pleasure of speaking with Baltimore native King Midas. Making his way through the Baltimore music scene, King Midas is making a push that we have never seen before. Definitely an artist many people should be paying attention to. King Midas continued to mention that he has the ability to be one of our generation’s biggest stars. Learn more about King Midas on our exclusive Q&A.

Q: Who inspired you to make music?

King Midas: My older brother Josh had inspired me to make music

Q: How would you describe the music that you typically create?

King Midas: My sound is more so original eclectic and authentic !!

Q: What is your creative process like?

King Midas: The process is like me being out of body watching myself complete almost like me telling me what to do

Q: Who would you most like to collaborate with?

King Midas: These days I’d like to collaborate with Lil Baby for his authenticity, Anderson Paak for his musicality, and H.E.R because I’m a straight fan of hers

Q: What is one message you would give to your fans?

King Midas: The message to my fans would be that don’t expect anybody to keep it real with you or even like you until you do so with yourself!

Q: What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

King Midas: I don’t know what I’d be doing if it weren’t for music. I just know I’d be doing a lot of it

Q: What are some of your biggest accomplishments?

King Midas: Some of my biggest accomplishments are being able to say that I go through life and pay every bill off my GOD given talent. I have gotten the chance to work with some of my favorite producers and artist of all time ppl with real influence. I have been a major musical part of 2 hit tv-series and countless charting records such as “Bel Air” by Tyga featuring Quavo of Migos, “Move to La” by Tyga feat. Ty Dolla $ign, “Replay” by Tyga feat. Young Thug, “Makings of You” by Tamar Braxton, and a gang of other things! I have also had viral success with a single of my own called “Really High” surpassing 1 million views on this Instagram and 2 million streams on the completed song! Then I dropped an E.p sticking to the basics on the ADHP project makes it by far my best body of work to date!

Q: How would you say Social Media has impacted your music career?

King Midas: Social media impacted my career because it allows folk to know you actually exist! And with one breath of talent your one video away from viral! You are also able to become apart of people’s everyday life with your gift! Because if your consistent enuff they won’t be able to live without you

Q: Name a few famous musicians you have worked with?

King Midas: A few famous musicians I’ve worked with are Sean Kingston, Mystical, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Quavo, Tyga, Bj the Chicago Kid, Wale, Tory Lanez, Aloe Black, Tamar Braxton, K Michelle, Rodney Jerkins, Young Thug, Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, Lucky Daye, Busta Rhymes, Remy Ma, Papoose, Sticky Fingas

Q: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

King Midas: The most trouble I ever got into was being caught by the law with a 40 Glock

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given?

King Midas: The best advice is given to me is to hurry UP and be YOU.

Q: What’s next for you?

King Midas: The next thing for me is to be bigger and better.  I want to help a dude or lady just like me but to make their journey easier with less heartache just less fuckery. I believe I can change the world greatly with these positive infectious happy feeling melodies that tell the good the bad and the ugly of LIFE!!!!
