Most Improved Player candidate Davis Bertans will not be heading to Orlando to finish the 2019-20 season. The 27-year-old decided to take preventive measures against the current pandemic in the U.S.

The Wizards fully support Bertan’s decision and are optimistic to sign him this offseason. Fans should be happy he is taking precaution as the Wizards are currently ninth seed and Bertans has suffered two ACL injuries in his career. Securing a guaranteed payday would be in the best interest of the sixth man.

Bertans had a career year scoring 15.9 points per game, and shooting 42.3% from behind the arch. Indiana Pacers drafted Bertans in the 2011 second round. In 2016, he made a name for himself as a shooter off the bench for the San Antonio Spurs. He joined the Wizards in 2019.
