His Favorite pre studio/performance traditions
I light up an incense, and pour a glass of Sauvignon Blanc or Crown Royal (depending on how I’m feeling). I do smoke tree,
but only when I’m mixing/mastering a track.
I’m a huge fan of documentaries/biopics. I’ll watch documentaries of great musicians like; Fade to Black, Time Is illmatic,
Chasing Trane, Miles Ahead etc… That usually gets me zoned in and focused. There’s just so much inspiration watching artists
like that, it really gets me pumped up.

Top five biggest musical influences/ opinion on the music industry

2. Stevie Wonder
3. John Coltrane
4. Michael Jackson
5. Nas
The music industry nowadays is quite amusing. In this day and age of social media, it’s like the attention span of most people
is shot. A lot of music is hear today and gone tomorrow. I really try to take my time when creating, because I aim to stick
around for a while. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of good music that’s being created still; there’s just an overflow of music
that’s not at great. Music and hip-hop in general has become more of a trend than an experience; like what’s hot at the moment.
I remember I used to get hype when I heard one of my favorite hip-hop artist was dropping an album. That’s definitely no longer
my mindset. I’d honestly rather listen to R&B nowadays, because those albums tend to have that “it” factor that allows you to
really experience the project song after song, from beginning to end. Sitting back and watching the Label vs. Independent
war is interesting. These days you don’t need a label to make a name for yourself, you just have to be able to make moves
to build up your name, and be able to fund those moves yourself. The independent route is definitely a slow grind, but it can also
be a lot more beneficial in the log run.
Artists and media personalities he would love to collaborate with and S/Os
Anyone that I’ve worked on projects with in the past, as well as this new one (Louis XII, Papi LoMein, Ryshon Jones
Trip Rexx, Sovereign etc.). I can’t forget about the homie ETO, who’s probably the funniest person I know and has done
some fire skits for me in the past.
My team that has been in my corner since I really started talking music serious, they know who they are. Always gave me
constructive criticsm and pushed me to continue to get better, and work on perfecting the craft.
