The Baltimore Orioles snapped a five-game losing streak with an 8-7 win over the team tied with the best record in the American League the Houston Astros. The win comes a day after the Orioles took a 23-2 loss to the Astros the most runs the Orioles have allowed all season.
After the Orioles a run in the first inning off a RBI double by leftfielder Jace Peterson, the Astros would score off a three-run homerun by Carlos Correa in the second inning to take a 3-1 lead.
The Orioles would score a run in the bottom of the second inning making the score 3-2 but would not get the lead back until the fifth inning. In the fifth inning, the Orioles would score two runs and one in the sixth making the score 5-3 in favor of the O’s.
After scoring a run in the seventh inning, the Astros would take the lead back in the ninth inning scoring three runs off an RBI triple by leftfielder Michael Brantley.
In the same inning, the Orioles would score three runs including a walkoff two-run homerun by third baseman Rio Ruiz securing the win for the O’s.
The Orioles will start a four-game road series with the other team tied for the best record in the American League the New York Yankees tomorrow afternoon.
