In their first home game in Bulldog Stadium of the 2019 season, the Bowie State Bulldogs football team came away with a 42-14 win over Alderson Broaddus to improve to 3-0 on the young season.

The Bulldogs moved the ball effectively on the ground with a total of 286 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the game. Both of the Bulldogs quarterbacks (Ja’rome Johnson and Gaston Cooper accounted for the team’s two rushing touchdowns.

Bulldogs quarterback Gaston Cooper took the majority of the snaps under center for the team going 8/14 passing for 187 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

Senior wide receiver DuShon David for the Bulldogs led the team with three catches for 107 yards including a 75 yard touchdown reception.

Bulldogs redshirt sophomore defensive linemen Joshua Pryor anchored the defense finishing the game with 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Redshirt junior defensive back Tevin Singleton scored on a 42-yard pick six giving the team their first defensive touchdown this season.

The Bulldogs will play their first game in CIAA play as they will take on the St. Augustine’s Falcons in a rematch of the 2018 CIAA championship game.
