EA Sports Reveals Madden 21 Cover Featuring Ravens Lamar Jackson
The wait is over!
23-year-old reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson has added yet another achievement to his football resume. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback will be the featured player for EA Sports Madden NFL 21 video game franchise.
Three different versions of the covers were released, which are the MVP Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Standard Edition. EA Sports released the visuals as well as the trailer for the game earlier this morning. Instead of the usual portrait picture, this year will feature collages.

Some of his teammates got a chance to look at a sneak peek of the cover prior to its release and they were all feeling it. All of the images were taken by Ravens Team Photographer Shawn Hubbard. EA Sports had to cancel its photoshoot with Jackson due to COVID-19 precautions.
Some fans worry about the recurring Madden curse affecting Jackson. At some point, the player who is on the cover usually gets injured during the season. Others believe the curse is just a mere coincidence, Patrick Mahomes who was the cover athlete last year won the Super Bowl as well as MVP honors after the game. The Ravens star said this back in April about the infamous curse:
“I want that curse. I hope that’s a curse. It’s always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, since I first started playing Madden. It’s dope. I have every Madden. To me, to be on the front of it, it’s a dream come true.” – Lamar Jackson
The only other time a Ravens player graced the cover was Ray Lewis back for Madden NFL 2005. Madden 21 is set to release on August 25, 2020. You can pre-order it now and get to play it three days earlier.
