Kodak Black Gets Florida Gun Charges Dismissed

Kodak Black Gets Florida Gun Charges Dismissed

  • PublishedJune 6, 2020

Kodak Black has something to smile about while serving his time. The multiple gun charges stemming against him in Florida have been dismissed. His lawyer Bradford Cohen stated he sat down with Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Rundle about Kodak.

Cohen apparently left a good enough impression of the rapper that several of his gun charges will be dismissed. The two charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person have been dropped according to The Blast. Those charges carried a maximum of 15 years together.

“At the end of the conversation [with the State Attorney], they were concerned that he couldn’t get into the court-ordered drug treatment with an open case and a max security prison. They agreed that the fair thing to do was to dismiss the case, so he can attend drug treatment and a lower security prison.”

Kodak is currently jailed in a maximum-security prison in Kentucky. He is serving close to four years after falsifying information on an application to purchase weapons.
