Kodak Black Pleaded Guilty Yesterday in a Federal Weapons Case
Controversial Florida rapper Kodak Black pleaded guilty to federal weapons charges yesterday. The 22-year-old rapper was arrested back in May of this year prior to performing at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami.
Prosecutors charged him with crimes including falsifying information on federal forms to buy four firearms. Black obtained three weapons: a .380 caliber handgun, a 9mm handgun, and a semi-automatic Mini Draco weapon. Authorities stated one of the guns was found at the scene of a March shooting in Pompano Beach.
Black claims he needed the weapons for protection due to threats from other gangs and rivals. The rapper is scheduled for sentencing November, 13 and could face a maximum of 20 years and $500,000 fine. He has been denied bond.
