Tchakounte was an Uber driver and Robinson was his passenger. Police say both men were found dead on the scene.
After a preliminary investigation, it was found that Tchakounte picked up Robinson and then later picked up 42-year-old Aaron Lanier Wilson, Jr., as apart of Uber’s “ride-share option”. Both passengers were picked up from two different locations.
Wilson confessed to detectives that he was picked up by Tchakounte and inside the vehicle during the time of the shooting. According to police, Wilson also told detectives that he was high off PCP. Police suspects Wilson did not know Tchakounte and Robinson prior to the shooting.
Wilson was arrested and charged with first and second-degree murder.
Uber released the following statement on Wednesday:
“We are devastated by this news and our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of Beaudouin Tchakounte and Casey Robinson. We will continue to work with law enforcement on their investigation into this heinous crime. Additionally, we are grateful for the work of the Prince George’s County Police Department.”
