I-270 and I-495 will be seeing a makeover in the very near future as the Maryland Board of Public Works approved the widening project in a 2-1 vote.

After four hours of public testimony, and a question/answer session with public state officials the vote was cast. The MBPW board consists of the governor, comptroller, and treasurer.

Last month The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board, made up of politicians and government agencies across the DMV, voted 28 to 10 in favor of the widening project.

Hopefully now commutes for all will be cut significantly.
