Meet Rising DMV Comedian Brutha Luv
  • PublishedDecember 4, 2021

Everyone knows that the DMV breeds nothing but successful people. Whether it is music, photography, modeling, or sports, we have tons of talents that go unnoticed. Today, we had the pleasure of speaking with rising local comedian Brutha Luv. Check out our discussion down below.

Q: How did you get into comedy?

Brutha Luv: I got into it from a young age just watching kings of comedy at a young age believe it or not😂, from a young age I had the ability to make my friends and family laugh, I knew I had something special when I had the ability to make my grandparents laugh

Q: Have you always wanted to be a comedian?

Brutha Luv: A comedian not really I just knew I wanted to entertain, whether it be acting or sketch comedy

Q: What is your creative process like?

Brutha Luv: My creative process is more so watching movies, music videos, and life experiences, I remember everything and just go for it

Q: How do you come up with the material?

Brutha Luv: I first by noting everything down or sometimes off the top of the head just come up with something on the fly, My motto is to stay consistent, I feel like that’s key just taking my time caring about the time I put in my content

Q: How well do you deal with criticism about your skits and content?

Brutha Luv: In life, you always gonna deal with criticism I always like to hear criticism from people who have to say if it’s positive or negative but as long as it is respectful. My advice would be to focus on the positive all the hateful things people have to say let them deal with that because you can hold your head high cause you’re doing the thang

Q: What role do you think social media plays in your career?

Brutha Luv: Social media is a big help to get content to the people, it’s a way to know who you are, interact and gain notoriety.

Q: What are some of your strengths and weaknesses?

Brutha Luv: I would say my strengths are I’m always looking to get better, consistent, humble, creative. My weakness is that sometimes I pay too much attention to the negative comments instead of the love I’m shown

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Brutha Luv: The best advice I’ve been given is to keep God first and to keep going I’m on the right track

Q: If you could do stand-up with 3 comedians, who would they be and why?

Brutha Luv: I’m going, to be honest, I do not really consider myself a stand up guy but if I had to it would be Bernie Mac because he’s my favorite of all time, Katy Williams because of the wittiness and there is no one like him and Hannibal Burress because people say we look alike and we could play on the joke you would never know who’s on stage

Q: What’s next for you?

Brutha Luv: Cranking out more content, getting better day by day, and I’m currently in John Casablancas acting and modeling school. Once I’m done they are gonna sign me to a 3-year non-disclosed contract and they’re gonna help me get auditions with movies, shows n commercials. So God willing look out for me the next year or two on your screen🙏🏿. Last but not least just wanna say thank you for all your support and interviewing me and happy holidays
