March Madness is over which is a perfect transition into the NBA Playoffs. In the west, the Warriors and Nuggets are looking to stay dominant. While in the East, Milwaukee is looking to prove why they should be feared as a top seed. It was an interesting weekend within the NBA playoffs, here are the current series standings and scores after one game.

Western Conference

LA Clippers vs Golden State Warriors

Series Standing: GS leads 1-0
Game One Score: GSW Wins, 121-104
Top Performers: Lou Williams (25 PTS, 3 REB, 9 AST) & Stephen Curry (38 PTS, 15 REB, 7 AST)

Doc Rivers has had a better season, even with less players. And it’s something worth noting. It’s also worth noting that Steph Curry has correct his eyesight, which sounds ridiculous just like his stat line. He dropped 38 points in a win over the Clippers. Despite their firepower, I don’t expect to see a series sweep here.

San Antonio Spurs vs Denver Nuggets

Series Standing: SAS leads 1-0
Game One Score: SAS wins, 101-96
Top Performers: DeMar DeRozan (18 PTS, 12 REB, 6 AST) & Nikola Jokic (10 PTS, 14 REB, 14 AST)

Denver is a top 4 team in the league. But San Antonio has the best coach in the league. Their five-point win shows that Coach “Pop” still has it. Denver will most likely recover in game two.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Portland Trail Blazers

Series Standing: POR leads 1-0
Game One Score: POR wins, 104-99
Top Performers: Russell Westbrook (24 PTS, 10 REB, 10 AST) & Enes Kanter (20 PTS, 18 REB, 2 AST)

The beef between Westbrook and Lillard is must watch TV. Ironically, a former teammate of Westbrook gave his team troubles. Kanter’s 20 and 18 performance shocked many and were a major reason for Portland’s win.

Utah Jazz vs Houston Rockets

Series Standing: HOU leads 1-0
Game One Score: HOU wins, 122-90
Top Performers: James Harden (29 PTS, 8 REB, 10 AST) & Rudy Gobert (22 PTS, 12 REB, 1 AST)

Utah has a good squad but Houston’s offense is just too much to handle.

Eastern Conference

Brooklyn Nets vs Philadelphia 76ers

Series Standing: BRK leads, 1-0
Game One Score: BRK wins, 111-102
Top Performers: Caris LeVert (23 PTS, 4 REB, 2 AST) & Jimmy Butler (36 PTS, 9 REB, 2 STL)

Brooklyn walked into Philly and handed the 76ers a mad L. The scoreline doesn’t show it but Brooklyn had their way. So much so that fans left early and boos were heard for alot of the game. Maybe the Lakers should not have traded D-Lo after all. Their loss.

Orlando Magic vs Toronto Raptors

Series Standing: ORL leads 1-0
Game One Score: ORL wins, 104-101
Top Performers: D.J. Augustin (25 PTS, 2 REB, 6 AST) & Pascal Siakam (24 PTS, 9 REB, 4 AST)

Kyle Lowry and the NBA Playoffs are two things that do not bode well. The man scored no points at all. DJ Augustin and the Magic took advantage. Toronto has a whole country behind them but their record in game 1’s recently does not look good at all.

Indiana Pacers vs Boston Celtics

Series Standing: BOS leads 1-0
Game One Score: BOS wins, 84-74
Top Performers: Thaddeus Young (7 PTS, 4 REB, 6 AST) & Kyrie Irving (20 PTS, 5 REB, 7 AST)

Eight points in the 3rd quarter. Indiana just fell apart. That’s low but Boston’s 84 points were also low. It was a good win but this series could go farther than most expect. If the Pacers find their offense, Boston will be in trouble.

Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks

Series Standing: MIL leads, 1-0
Game One Score: MIL wins, 121-86
Top Performers: Luke Kennard (21 PTS, 4 REB, 2 AST) & Giannis Antetokounmpo (24 PTS, 17 REB, 4 AST)

Blake Griffin might miss this whole series. That’s very bad for Piston fans and even better for the Bucks. In the most lopsided game of the weekend, Milwaukee had their way.
