Cavs made a trade or three
When the Cleveland Cavaliers began their NBA trade deadline day with a stunning deal sending Isaiah Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers, the reaction from around the league wasn’t exactly positive.
Cavs send:
Isaiah Thomas to the Lakers
Channing Frye to the Lakers
Jae Crowder to Utah
Derrick Rose to Utah
Iman Shumpert to Sacramento
Their own 2018 first-round pick to the Lakers
Dwyane Wade to Miami
2020 second-round pick to Sacramento
Cavs get::
Larry Nance Jr. from the Lakers
Jordan Clarkson from the Lakers
George Hill from Sacramento
Rodney Hood from Utah
Protected second-round pick from Miami
The Cavaliers desperately need to change the tenor around the franchise. They did so Thursday, and in dramatic fashion. Four players in, and six players and a first round draft pic out. They’ll have two months to prepare for what they will be another long play off run, and possibly a fourth straight NBA finals appearance. Maybe it will be enough to convince James to remain in Cleveland for at least another year .
