Off the lens! Give us a background of you and the brand

I’ve always had a camera in my hand ever since I was old enough to hold one. It was a hobby that became a passion. Over 11 years later and I’m still doing what I love.
Everything I’ve learned was self-taught. If you really want something, chasing it should come as a natural reflex. If it wasn’t for having my daughter, I would have never had the motivation needed to
accomplish the goals I’ve accomplished. I came up with the name “OffTheLens” with my cousin while we trying to create my first logo for my first company. Almost 3 years later and my dreams are coming true before my eyes. I’m finally Writing, Directing, and Producing films of my own. I’m not finished, nor have I perfected my craft just yet, but I plan on taking my brand and my creativeness to the next level.
Biggest influences and artists you worked with?

I would have to say that my biggest influence is Spike Lee. I look up to him in so many ways in “the film world”. As for all of the artists I’ve worked with, I’ve gained knowledge and solid business relationships from working with them.
Any favorites?

Lol, No favorites. I treat every client like they’re my favorite lol.

What inspired you to start photography?

I wanted to capture priceless moments, so that re-living them would be easier to do. Photography helped me accomplish that goal.

Any inspirations?

No inspirations at the moment, sorry.

Pre shoot traditions? Post?

Okay, this might sound a little corny lol, but I need to listen to music while I set up the equipment for a shoot, as well as while I’m shooting. I figure that music also helps my clients to loosen up and feel comfortable during their shoot. My Post Tradition is getting some “&Pizza” after every successful shoot.

Anybody you dream to collaborate with on a project?

Sooo many to choose from lol, but honestly it’s my dream to shoot with Kehlani.

Proudest moment?

I was sooo nervous about my first film, I didn’t think anyone would even believe in me, but when I saw people standing outside waiting to audition for my film, It was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Long term goals?

Establishing affordable photography/cinematography studio space to rent across the country. As well as Writing, Producing, and Directing films that people love. My long term goal is to make a living off of  doing what I love the most.

A quote that describes you?

“Do not fear failure but rather fear not trying.”

Any S/Os?
My support team. Without the help of them, I wouldn’t have the help with my daughter that I need in order to chase my dreams. And of course, my daughter, you’re presence is what pushes me to do better everyday.
