After starting the season 0-5, the Washington Redskins have finally gotten their first win of the season getting a 17-16 road win over the winless Miami Dolphins.
The first score of the game did not come until the second quarter when the Redskins scored off a 25-yard pass from eight-year quarterback Case Keenum (first with the Redskins) to rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin. Following a Miami Dolphins field goal in the second quarter, the Redskins went into halftime up 7-3.
The third quarter saw the Redskins score off a 33-yard passing touchdown from another Keenum to McLaurin connection and a field goal by Dustin Hopkins to make the score 17-3 going into the fourth quarter.

There the Miami Dolphins began their comeback bid scoring on a one yard rushing touchdown by second year running back Kalen Ballage three minutes into the fourth quarter.
Down 17-10, the Miami Dolphins scored off an 11-yard passing touchdown from 15-year veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (first with Dolphins) to fifth-year wide receiver DeVante Parker (all with Dolphins) to make the score 17-16 with six seconds left. However, instead of attempting an extra point to tie the game, the Dolphins opted for a two point conversion. The conversion failed after a Ryan Fitpatrick pass to running back Kenyan Drake securing a win for the Redskins.
Case Keenum finished the game with 166 yards on 13/25 passing for two passing touchdowns for the Redskins. Rookie receiver Terry McLaurin continued what has been a good rookie season as he finished the game with 100 yards on four catches for two touchdowns. Redskins running back Adrian Peterson finished with 118 yards on 23 carries.
The Redskins defense played well finishing with seven tackles for loss, five sacks and two interceptions in the game.
