In their final game before the All-Star break, the Washington Wizards went on the road to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Knicks and left with a 114-96 win. This is the Wizards’ second straight win and their fifth in their last seven games.

After going into halftime down 50-46, the Wizards turned up the pressure in the second half outscoring the Knicks 68-46 on their way to victory.

While both teams shot poorly from three-point range, the Wizards outshot the Knicks making 10 threes to the Knicks three. Both teams were effective getting to three free throw line combining for 62 free throw attempts. It was also the Wizards ability to force turnovers that helped them get the win with the Knicks committing 20 turnovers to the Wizards 13.

Bradley Beal once again led the Wizards in scoring with 30 points on 11/23 shooting. Beal is averaging 34.6 points per game in his past 12 games.

Davis Bertans came off the bench to score 16 points, Isaac Bonga scored 13 points and Troy Brown Jr. finished with 11 points and six assists.

Julius Randle finished with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Elfrid Payton finished with 19 points, eight assists and five steals.

The Wizards have not won more than two games in a row all season. Their next chance to get their third straight win will be February 21st after the All-Star break when they play the Cleveland Cavaliers at home.
