Following an overtime loss against the Miami Heat, the Washington Wizards bounce back getting a 124-112 road win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The win comes on the second game of their four-game road trip.

All-Star hopeful Bradley Beal led the team in scoring with 36 points on 15/22 shooting from the field and 4/8 shooting from three-point range while adding eight assists. This gives Bradley Beal his 15th game this season scoring 30 points or more and his fifth game with at least 30 points and eight assists. He is currently sixth in the league in scoring and is one of five players averaging at least 27 points and six assists this season.

Davis Bertans came off the bench to score 17 points in tonight’s win on 6/10 shooting from the field and 4/7 from three. Ish Smith also coming off the bench finished the game with 17 points, five assists and four rebounds. Isaiah Thomas scored 13 points and four assists.

The Cavaliers were led by Collin Sexton who finished with 29 points, four rebounds and four assists. Larry Nance Jr. came off the bench to score 22 points, 12 rebounds and three assists on 10/14 shooting. Kevin Love scored 21 points in the game.

The Wizards are still fifth in the NBA in points per game as a team (114.7). This comes in spite of the fact that their star point guard John Wall has not played a game all season recovering from an achilles injury, rookie Rui Hachimura has not played since December 16th dealing with a groin injury, Thomas Bryant has been on a minutes restriction since coming back from a foot injury that caused him to miss 20 games, and Ian Mahinmi missed 20 of the first 21 games while recovering from an achilles injury.

Unfortunately, health and their effort on the defensive end (last in the NBA allowing 120.1 points per game) has prevented the Wizards from being in contention for a playoff spot this season.

Their next game will be on Sunday as they play the Atlanta Hawks in the third game of their four-game road trip.
