On a day that we celebrate the life of the most iconic Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Washington Wizards snapped a three-game losing streak with a win against the Detroit Pistons. They have now won four of their last fove home games.
Bradley Beal led the Wizards in scoring with 29 points on 10/21 shooting and adding six assists. Center Ian Mahinmi, who got the start ahead of regular starting center Thomas Bryant, finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
Thomas Bryant himself came off the bench to score 13 points and six rebounds.
Derrick Rose led the Pistons in scoring with 21 points while Andre Drummond stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, 16 rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks.
The win for the Wizards improves their record to 14-28. They will now transition to a four-game road trip beginning in Miami as they take on the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
