The 20-year-old Grown-ish star, Yara Shahidi, signed a massive deal with ABC Studios to launch her production company, 7th Sun Productions, with her mother and business partner, Keri Shahidi. Yara, who plays Zoey Johnson on the Black-ish and Grown-ish sitcoms and her mother Keri will be developing scripted and unscripted projects along with her mother Keri through their newly formed production company. 7th Sun Productions, aims to “pursue projects that touch upon themes of history, heritage, culture, and joy” and will be a part of Disney Television Studios which is based in ABC Studios, according to Deadline.
“The vision is set. The slate is built,” Yara wrote in an Instagram post. “Grateful to my ABC family and excited to join the television landscape to collaborate and push forward the stories of our many intersections.”
Keri also posted to IG, “Excited to share our next manifested dream. We are eager to tell more stories, continue expanding the media landscape alongside out peers and to keep the door open for other creatives. Grateful for our ABC family.”
